Kai Tak Sports Avenue Canopy 啟德體育大道天幕

啟德體育園是一個標誌性、雄心勃勃且具前瞻願景的項目，旨在將佔地28公頃的舊機場地段改造成充滿活力的體育和社區中心。該項目以「東方之珠」為設計主題，耗資319億港元。

啟德體育大道作為貫穿園區南北的核心軸線，連接啟德站廣場、零售館、主場館，形成一條連續的步道，將這種聯繫由區域核心地帶和新興社區，一直延伸到海濱。

約700公尺長的啟德體育大道設有天幕，兼具環境和體驗功能，在保持開闊性和視覺亮堂的同時，提供遮陽和擋風雨的功能。設計時考慮到人流密集和全年開放的公共通道，需要合適的解決方案，以確保其在此地亞熱帶氣候，高濕度和颱風的條件下富有耐用性、低需維護兼美感。

建材用ETFE 成就了這一系列要求：輕盈但堅固的伸展和韌性結構，提高了材料效率和建築明晰性，同時實現了功能、設計願景和環境友好——這是可持續發展的啟德城市景觀之決定性特徵。

啟德體育大道的天幕共使用了 6,630 平方米的 ETFE，由位於德國巴伐利亞製造商生產的250μm薄膜，製成的雙層 ETFE 氣墊，印有 DM 4:65 點狀圖案作光線控制。

著名的體育設施建築師樓Populous 又一部耀眼之作，「讓體育園成為真正的城市空間，而不僅僅是一堆體育設施」；而團隊中的香港建築師將九龍城寨龍津石橋概念融入體育大道設計也功不可沒。

年度盛事國際七人欖球賽主場遷入這爿新場館，但南看台的「扮鬼扮馬」仍舊吸睛，賽後派對精彩繼續「咪畀佢停！」，鏡頭拉闊，維港的夜色璀璨依然......

Kai Tak Sports Park, the iconic, ambitious and forward looking project of transform the 28-hectare former airport site into a vibrant sports and community hub. With “ Pearl of Orient” as the design concept, cost HKD31.9 billion (approx. USD3.85 billion).

Running through the entire Kai Tak Sports Park precinct on a north-south axis, Kai Tak Sports Avenue links those key locations like Station Square, Malls and Stadium, by a dynamic pedestrian pathway. Enhance the connection of the heart of the region and new developing neighbourhoods all the way to the harbourfront promenade.

Spanning approximately 700 metres, the Kai Tak Sports Avenue with Canopy, with  both environmental and experiential function offering shade and weather protection while maintaining openness and visual lightness. Designed for high foot traffic and year-round public use, need the right  solution for  durability, minimal maintenance, and an elevated aesthetic in an area exposed to high humidity as well as strong winds in this subtropical weather conditions.

The ETFE result is a series of lightweight yet robust tensile, and resillience structures that elevates material efficiency, architectural clarity while delivering functional, design aspirations and environmental responsiveness — a defining feature in the evolving Kai Tak urban landscape.

6,630 sqm ETFE used for the canopy of Kai Tak Sports Avenue,  double-layer ETFE cushions fabricated from 250μm Nowofol film with a DM 4:65 frit pattern for solar control.

Another magnificent work from Populous—-an old hand at designing these types of athletic parks. With “the opportunity for the sports park to become a real urban space more than just a cluster of athletic facilities”. Where the Hong Kong team members also play the crucial role by weaving the the concept of historic Lung Tsun Stone Bridge into the design of Sports Avenue.
